Best wishes and Training info!

Greetings everyone!

On behalf of the club committee and senseis, I would like to wish you all just the best in the new year 2010!

Hope you all had a blast and can't wait to burn off calories from all those yummy dinners, cakes and drinks! :) There will be training over the exam period this month but watch out for emails and announcements as the times will differ from our regular sessions.

Important dates for your diaries!!

Ladies and gents!

Just a reminder regarding some important events/ dates/ socials etc, so please make sure you write these down!

MEMBERSHIP - If you havent done so, please join the club through the SU website (www.su.nottingham.ac.uk). Costs £3 for the whole year and you need to be a member to receive emails etc.

MAILING LIST - Everyone who hasnt joined the club yet but is still on the mailing list - your name will be deleted by 26th Oct so you have to join the club by this date! Please do so. :)

MAT FEES - Please make sure you always pay £2 to Jodie or Chris at the session or get the very valuable season ticket for £30 (saves you £14!)

INSURANCE - As Sarah mentioned, please make sure you get your insurance sorted! Everyone who has been training for 2 weeks now, needs to pay £25. Please also grades with expired insurances, get it sorted!

REGIONAL COURSE - This is happening on 24th Oct in Loughborough. Its a great way to do some extra training and meet all the other novices/ grades from around the region. More details to follow.

HALLOWEEN SOCIAL - The craziest night of the year is almost here! Attendance is compulsory :) I mean, we have to beat Trent Uni at drinking again (as we always do!)! :) It's actually happening on 31st Oct so please make sure you can make it! More details to follow.

JITSU ATEMI NATIONALS - Wicked event with lots of amazing Jitsu, excellent instructors, competitions and lots of drinking! :) Happening on 14th/ 15th Nov. PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP if you are coming!!

One last thing - We are trying to sort out a Wednesday crazy social (14th Oct) in Crisis (its the AU night!). Email with more info will follow soon so hope you can all make it!! Should be another legendary night!

Free Freshers'/ Taster Session!!!

Hi everyone!

Hope you have all enjoyed your first week at the university and want to finish it in style by doing some jitsu!

Don't forget the Free Freshers'/ Taster Session this Sunday (27th September) 1-3pm in the Sports Centre on main campus. Bring loose clothing, a willing attitude and a smile! :) If you can't make it, don't worry - just come along to any session (your first session is always free!). Regular training times are Wednesdays and Fridays 6-8pm in the Sports Centre on main campus.

More info: If you want to join the club, the fee is £3. Every session costs £2, however, you can purchase a season ticket which will give you a cheaper price for the semester.

And lastly, Freshers' Social is coming soon! It's a legendary night which you can't miss out on! Watch out for more details.

Freshers' Session

Freshers' session is this Sunday (28th) 12-->2pm at the sports centre.

PANCAKE SOCIAL!!!!!

It's the annual Pancake Social which combines the two important things in our lives - eating and drinking! yay! So there's going to be lots of yummy pancakes and booze! The committee will provide homemade pancakes of the highest quality and some basic toppings like sugar, lemon juice, maple syrup. Please bring your own favourites (choc spread, whipped cream, jam etc). There's also going to be alcoholic mix so that we won't be thirsty! :) Feel free to bring beers or other spirits of your liking.

Attendance is compulsory!! (otherwise I'll beat you up! Just ask Lewis, he knows what that feels like!)

So bring on the pancaaaaaakes!

Regional course & HALLOWEEN SOCIAL!!!!

Attention, attention!!

This is a very important announcement - the famous Jitsu Halloween Social is happening on the 3rd November! So please put this date down into your diaries and dont even think about not coming! Its going to be absolutely brilliant and of course very scaaaaary ( and by scary I mean guys dressed in women's clothes).

As you hopefully remember, the Regional Course is also on the 3rd, its in L'borough from 10am till 3pm, so the plan is to get back to Notts by 4pm and we'll start off with a small pub crawl at 7ish, then off to Murphy's and then a night club. I'll send out another email with all the details very soon.

FRESHER'S SOCIAL!!!!!!!

Hi everyone

Finally the day has come to have our Fresher's Social!! So it's happening this Friday (12th), we are going to finish the training half an hour early (7.30ish), get showered/changed etc, meet at Ancaster Bar on campus (it's the one that we always go to after training) between 8.15-8.30pm and start drinking! There's going to be lots of games and free booze involved! After that we are getting taxis and heading to town, probably BZR first to get even more drunk and then find our way to OCEAN.
Ben, Neil and myself (Social Secs) will be selling the OCEAN tickets at the Ancaster bar for 3.50 each so dont forget to bring some money.

It's going to be an unforgettable night so please everyone come down and join us!
