The University of Nottingham Ju Jitsu Club

On behalf of the club committee and senseis, I would like to wish you all just the best in the new year 2010! 

Hope you all had a blast and can't wait to burn off calories from all those yummy dinners, cakes and drinks! :) There will be training over the exam period this month but watch out for emails and announcements as the times will differ from our regular sessions.

Ladies and gents!

Just a reminder regarding some important events/ dates/ socials etc, so please make sure you write these down!

MEMBERSHIP - If you havent done so, please join the club through the SU website (www.su.nottingham.ac.uk). Costs £3 for the whole year and you need to be a member to receive emails etc.

MAILING LIST - Everyone who hasnt joined the club yet but is still on the mailing list - your name will be deleted by 26th Oct so you have to join the club by this date! Please do so. :)

MAT FEES - Please make sure you always pay £2 to Jodie or Chris at the session or get the very valuable season ticket for £30 (saves you £14!)

INSURANCE - As Sarah mentioned, please make sure you get your insurance sorted! Everyone who has been training for 2 weeks now, needs to pay £25. Please also grades with expired insurances, get it sorted!

REGIONAL COURSE - This is happening on 24th Oct in Loughborough. Its a great way to do some extra training and meet all the other novices/ grades from around the region. More details to follow.

HALLOWEEN SOCIAL - The craziest night of the year is almost here! Attendance is compulsory :) I mean, we have to beat Trent Uni at drinking again (as we always do!)! :) It's actually happening on 31st Oct so please make sure you can make it! More details to follow.

JITSU ATEMI NATIONALS - Wicked event with lots of amazing Jitsu, excellent instructors, competitions and lots of drinking! :) Happening on 14th/ 15th Nov. PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP if you are coming!!

One last thing - We are trying to sort out a Wednesday crazy social (14th Oct) in Crisis (its the AU night!). Email with more info will follow soon so hope you can all make it!! Should be another legendary night!

Hope you have all enjoyed your first week at the university and want to finish it in style by doing some jitsu!

Don't forget the Free Freshers'/ Taster Session this Sunday (27th September) 1-3pm in the Sports Centre on main campus. Bring loose clothing, a willing attitude and a smile! :) If you can't make it, don't worry - just come along to any session (your first session is always free!). Regular training times are Wednesdays and Fridays 6-8pm in the Sports Centre on main campus.

More info: If you want to join the club, the fee is £3. Every session costs £2, however, you can purchase a season ticket which will give you a cheaper price for the semester. 

And lastly, Freshers' Social is coming soon! It's a legendary night which you can't miss out on! Watch out for more details.
